Strong at the Broken Places is the remarkable story of five ordinary people trapped in the complex world of serious chronic illness. In this intimate portrait, Richard M. Cohen probes lives of sickness as these individuals struggle to cope. We are strong at the broken places, stronger than we think. Featured AppearancesI want to read your stories about living and coping with chronic illnesses, your highs and lows. What gets to you? How have you learned to keep going? I am interested in learning about you, your lives, the struggles of every day people dealing with illnesses while trying to lead normal lives. What are your issues? Where does the strength come from?

Also and just as important, I would like to hear from caregivers, those too often ignored as they carry the special burden of caring for others while they go forward in their own lives. Caregivers are special people.

I intend to post many of these stories on our website for all to share. We are a community. We need each other. I hope you will participate in and draw strength from this website. Click here to email your story.       — Richard M. Cohen
